The small Accipiter which visits my backyard I am told is a sharp-shinned hawk. You can see that the black cap extends through the nap to the back.

Cornell Lab has good info and comparison charts on their website between the Sharpie and Coopers. I vote Coopers. Regardless that is a nice photo!
