Awesome thats it. The 3051. Found one for $299.00 on ebay. Thank you. I am going to look for one a bit cheaper but if not i am going to be spending $300.00 on a memory.
I have a 3051, natural aluminum legs, with one or two camera base plates. Has been great for 8x10, $150. Blessings
I am looking for some help ID'ing an old Manfrotto tripod. About 35 yrs ago my father gave me a Manfrotto tripod, it had a very unique feature that i had not seen before or since. Slightly below the knuckle there was a lever that slide sideways, engaging this lever caused all three legs to drop. Making it very easy to setup quickly. Upon releasing the lever it snapped back and locked the legs. Does anyone have any idea what the model number would have been? I am guessing he bought it in the 60's. Maybe 70's. Anyway any help would be appriciated. That one was distroyed in a house fire and i would love to find another one.
Thanks and does anyone else want to skip 2021 and head straight into 2022?

There were vintage ones? I know of Manfrotto absorbing Bogen many years ago.
I have a 3051 (legs - no head) that I would be willing to sell for $150 + shipping. I used it with my 600mm 4.0 which I sold last year due to a pinched nerve and the weight of the tripod.
I have a 3051 that I do not use and would be happy to sell for 200 BUT the shipping on it would be, I'm sure, way too much. It is a beast as was previously stated.

As stated above, this is one HEAVY tripod. You may wish to join your local gym and work out on the weights before attempting to carrying this tripod anywhere. This tripod is a good solid one, but is much too heavy to carry around outdoors.
If you are talking politically then yes, i would agree 100%. But, i am so tired of not being able to get out into nature, my favorite place to take my camera.
Why can you not get out in nature? Away from people is safe as it gets.

I live in Colorado, last april they closed down all the national and state parks. They are open now, but with restrictions. And the 3 or 4 of my favorite places require a bit of hiking to get to, this is a problem because of the time restraint. Takes me over an hour of driving and an hour of hiking. Then the same or more out. 2021 will be better.
