About 1/2 inch of my computer screen is missing from the left side. There is a white "stripe" where the screen should be. How do I get the full screen back? Thanks for your help in advance
Laptop or desktop???
Power down computer, including monitor.
Wait 15 seconds.
Power up.
If still there, borrow another monitor.
If not on borrowed monitor, replace monitor.
If on borrowed monitor, replace graphics card.

Does your monitor have a horizontal position control in the menu?

Possible.
(I never adjust anything after initial setup, so that would not be a possibility with mine.)
Assuming you have a Windows operating system, try going into Settings/Display and tell us what the settings are.
Depending on the size of your screen the one of the Scale and Layout settings might be incorrect. You can 'play' with these and see if they rectify the problem safely.

Tried that. Settings/display did nothing to resolve the problem. I may have to take the thing to a local Geek store. Or just live with it. It's annoying, but the computer still works.

If powering down and back up doesn't work, try swapping out the video cable next. All my monitor problems have always all been due to bad cables.

Does the monitor have an "auto adjust" feature/button?
