I took this on the second day of experimenting with a ten stop CPL. Ironically the last photo in

Dark and mysterious, but somehow not threatening.

Beautiful image Mark - here's my view:
In my opinion this picture is beautiful. I don't think anything need to be done or can be done to make it better. All I could see to do was crop and make some part of it a focal point. I liked the way the fast flowing water is shown around the big rock and by cropping in tight it would emphasize that factor.
This was a really nice image to begin with. Here is my view.
Upper Norwalk River: The River Phantom emerges from hiding.
I adjusted the light a bit, added some wildlife and applied a distortion called "Sphere Warp A" from Flaming Pear package of effects which are PS plugins which work in Gimp.
I like the original and had fun with it.

A very interesting image. Thanks for including the RAW file Mark. I enjoyed working on your long exposure.
The obligatory monochrome.
I thought your image was wonderful Mark and really didn't need any work. I love the flow of the water around the rocks so made that my emphasis by cropping, adding a diamond spot to highlight the texture more and darkening the edges slightly. There are so many pictures inside this image it was fun experimenting. Thanks for offering this beautiful serene setting. Bev
Nice image, Mark. Here's my view.
Very pretty scene. Thanks.
