He took down the Bonapart gull behind some trees, so I didn't get a good shot of that moment.
But he was very accommodating and landed on this boulder by the ocean at Spanish Banks near UBC
in Vancouver. Not for the faint hearted as he stood on the live gull and ripped it apart.
I have brutally graphic shots in this sequence I didn't think appropriate to include.
Creeping closer, didn't check my speed so were all underexposed. Rookie mistake.
Saved by the RAW editor again. Not the first time.

I think the photos are great! However, I like photos a little underexposed. Sharpness and exposure look great.

Great pictures, well positioned and sharp. Nature is red in beak and claw

From the title, I though someone was eating a bald eagle, but this is way better

Been a while since I had a nice eagle casserole haha.
Excellent. Sharp and well-composed.

Nice shots, as usual. I am curious however, why do you say the image is underexposed? The white RGB values on the head are in the 250+ range, actually pushing way to the right. If you had more exposure, they potentially would be blown out. Just curious why you made that statement.

Hey Nalu, thanks for the feedback. I'm not a deeply technical photoshop guy even though
I've had it starting with CS2 back in the early 2000's
So, my editing usually consists of seeing a problem and fixing it by (hopefully) knowing what to tweak.
Not very scientific but that's how I do it. I like to leave the photos as shot as much as possible.
For these eagles, it's been a while, I think I used the RAW shadow enhancement. They weren't horribly underexposed. Don't know enough to explain where the RGB white ended up.
I'm aware of the 0-255 RGB space but don't bother with it.
Seems like I could use lessons from you!
Nice!
I got a bunch of shots of a hawk eating a squirrel behind my house not long ago.
Wild Kingdom moments for sure.

No, lesson from me might be a bad idea. Just that you mentioned in you post that the images were underexposed and I don’t think they were.
