I have the Canon 24 mm prime, pancake, great walking around lens

Amen. Equal love for the pancake. But unlike yourself I can’t single it out as my “most used” lens. Maybe “most loved” ... That could also be an interesting thread, and it requires no statistical analysis.

Edited to add: This has prompted me buy the 18-300 from KEH just now. Thank you to America for the "stimmy" money that has allowed me to make this purchase!

You’re most very welcome. Enjoy!

Of 1,764 retained D7000 N.NEF files in 2020, the Nikkor 18-55mm captured 656 and the N 80-400 captured 1,108.

If you filter and count your images in Lightroom, what surprises did you find? Do you use your own usage data to plan to sell unused lenses / cameras? Or maybe, to change the lenses you'll use more in 2021?

The circa 1981 Canon FD 200mm f/4 macro was my #1 used lens for keepers (mounted to a Sony a7II). Merging all the extended configurations, last year's #1 lens was the second most frequent in 2019, the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM (mounted to an EOS 5DIII).

Sony 100-400 G f4.5-5.6 and 135 G f1.8 mounted on the A7R4.

On a Mac, raw shots for example, you can search the 2020 .xmp files from the finder like below. Just edit the lens type after the " as particular for the lens:

That wasn't my most used lens. My 18-135 Canon was most used. I love the 24 pancake for light weight walking around lens

Nikon D6: Nikon 135mm @ 80%, Praktica 80mm for another 10%.
Yes the Praktica is heavy, with a big adapter but the shots are a touch tiny bit surreal.

I definitely used my 24-120 f4 the most this year, but I didn't get the 70-200 f2.8 until October, next year will likely be different.

About 50/50 24-104MM II and 100-400MM II on a 5DIII - birds and landscapes. Since the R5 RF 24-105MM and the 100-400 II with the adapter.

Well it would not have been a Canon! (or a Nikon or a Sony or a Fuji or an Olympus or a Pentax, as I don't have any. I have a 14-42 pancake and a 45-175 M4/3 Panasonic. Probably the 14-42 used most, but I love the 45-175. Both are power zooms. The 45-175 has internal zoom. As you can see, I don't carry any passengers.

I don't have to look. I mostly took photos of the common birds in the back yard & a couple of deer 7 shore birds at Sandy Hook National Park with the Nikon 200-500 this year. That was the lens most used. Next , a sunset & blue hour panos of Keansburg Fishing Pier with the Nikon 14-24 & 2 panos, 1 sunrise at Alantic Highlands Marina & 1 at Sandy Hook, Gateway Nat Park with the Nikon 70-200 VR-2. The 14=24 & 70-200 come in second & used about the same.
