For the past several years my wife and I have volunteered at our local animal shelter. We have been working in the kitty section. After a couple of times being there, I thought that they could use some photos of the kitties to post in order to get more adoptions. It has been really fun and I've learned a considerable amount and continue to experiment. Just recently they have allowed me to bring in some lights and backgrounds. I am not so sure it is worth it. I know that your keen eyes will be able to tell the difference. If you have any suggestions, I would be happy to listen. By the way, almost every week when the leave, I have a few more holes in my arm and blood dripping. The things you do to help.

Very nice photos and a fine way to spend your time, thank you!

Great pix. I volunteer at a feline shelter in PNW and know how difficult it can be to get a good photo of a kitty. But photos are an important part of the promotion. Our shelter, because of the shutdown, has not been open to the public since March, but we have had great success promoting with Facebook and Instagram, and through our own website using Adopet software in conjunction with Petfinder. A good photo, as they say, is worth a thousand words. Thank you for the work you do and the blood you have shed.

How can anyone turn down adopting those kitties after seeing your pictures.

Love your photos of the kitties. I'm a cat lover and have three. Trying to get a good portrait of them isn't easy, so I admire your photos. The minute mine realize I have my camera pointing at them, they either move or change position which spoils the shot.

I am so sorry your shelter isn't open. We have changed our hours and only have people come by appointment only. This has really helped, since all of those that get appointments have a real interest in adopting. Our shelter uses Petfinder also. It is such a great feeling when someone comes in and pull out the phone to show a picture of the kitty they are interested in. There isn't enough blood to be that much of a discouragement. We really love working with the kitties.

Gorgeous hosts of these beautiful little critters! My wife and I have volunteered for animal rescue organizations since 1983. Have had 12 or more dogs at a time not including fosters. Eight cats, parrots, other birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, and so on. I took most of the photos for a couple of animal rescue organizations around the Puget Sound region from 1994 to 2014.
Thanx for sharing!

These are terrific pictures, and I'm sure they help get more kitties adopted! Nice work.
