For the past several years my wife and I have volunteered at our local animal shelter. We have been working in the kitty section. After a couple of times being there, I thought that they could use some photos of the kitties to post in order to get more adoptions. It has been really fun and I've learned a considerable amount and continue to experiment. Just recently they have allowed me to bring in some lights and backgrounds. I am not so sure it is worth it. I know that your keen eyes will be able to tell the difference. If you have any suggestions, I would be happy to listen. By the way, almost every week when the leave, I have a few more holes in my arm and blood dripping. The things you do to help.

Lovely pictures of the kittens. I'm sure they help in getting them good homes.

Beautiful shots. Makes me want them all!
I took a class on shelter photography. She suggested happy backgrounds and to do your best to have the animal look happy/cute. The more appealing the animal looks, the more likely their adoption.

I must say you have a real talent for catching the cuteness of these beauties.

I try to make them laugh but it is really tough. I use toys and sounds but these poor little fellows have had a hard life before they come to the shelter and not always the easiest to deal with. Also for the background, solid colors and nothing distracting is what I work for. Not always able to shoot with my background just within the "kitty condos". Thanks for your feedback.

Beautiful photos and well done for your, I am sure much appreciated, voluntary work.
Great series of some beautiful felines, yes the lighting is well worth the effort, the scratches, not so much, but you are doing a great service, many thanks.
