Quite a statement. My uncle was a Japanese POW for 3 1/2 years who survived that & the Bataan death march. Never ever ate rice the rest of his life (94 yrs). I had a lot of respect for him & can’t even comprehend what he must have gone through.

I was lucky enough to meet a Bataan death march and hell ship survivor and a D-Day survivor. They were both afraid the younger generation would not know or care what they fought for and what they went through.

That was a tough generation. I think we ( the next generation) know & care; the current younger, not so much as history in its true form is not taught much these days I’m afraid. It baffles me how some have treated our flag today; if only they could know the sacrifices their ancestors went through so we could be fortunate enough to live under this flag.
