Wow I had thought he must have passed on, I haven’t seen any press on him, even when his long time friend and teammate Tommy Heinsohn recently passed away. One of my earliest memories was being on a plane trip with a bunch of those guys on board.

Bob Cousy and those Celtics are the reason I became really interested in basketball - the way it should be played. As a consequence, I've played all my life - up until a bad motorcycle accident at 86. I went back to motorcycles, and still ride a lot at 93, but no more basketball. I'm a Californian, but always have followed the Celtics - especially against the Lakers!!! No team ever will equal their string of championships, just as UCLA under the greatest coach - of any sport - of all time, John Wooden, though the UCONN women and Auriemma haven't done too badly! (I did always root for John Stockton and Karl Malone at Utah, however. Everybody knew the pick and roll was coming; they just couldn't stop it - and Stockton's assist record never even will be approached!)

I know where his house is. I live about ten miles from there. incidentally there is no H in the city name. It is Worcester not Worchester. A common mistake.

I worked in a Ramada Inn years ago, and one night there were a lot of really tall guys walking around the lobby. I found out that a college basketball team was staying with us. Funny.

Got to watch Cousy and team play several times back in the fifties as Boston was my ships home port. Very few players since then have exhibited his level of ball handling skills.

I can’t let the comment about John Wooden being the greatest coach of any sport go unchallenged. Dan Gable as coach of University of Iowa wrestling kind of puts Coach Wooden’s record to shame. Google it.

Yrs ago I was on a business trip to Denver. I don’t recall the hotel I was checked into, but leaving the desk and approaching the elevator, I waited couple minutes, and then the doors opened. Now, all 5’8” of me is looking straight into a belt buckle. There stood a San Antonio Spur, in town to play the Denver Nuggets!

Didn't realize he was quite that old...we just lost Tommy at 86, another Holy Cross product !
