I initially ordered a shirt that was available from Amazon on February 3, 2020. When the order was processed evidently they had run out of the shirt. Instead of cancelling the order I let it stand. I received my shirt December 21, 2020. Took a wile but eventually got it at the initial purchase price.

That is a strange one. I have many odd Amazon experiences too.

Good for you! I do not have that kind of patience, I have cancelled one or two orders because I got tire of waiting.

I ordered a set of Sony headphones from Amazon. It processed as usual until I'm ready to pay. System tells me they can't ship to my location. I've lived here for 30 years and received orders from Amazon, eBay and numerous other merchants. Needless to say I cancelled the order. Go figure...

One of my problems with Amazon is contacting them when there is a problem. Trying to get a proper return document that UPS will accept.

Entered 2 orders and Amazon said it would take 4 to 5 days (even with Prime Delivery) I thought what the heck it's Christmas. Two days later I received everything.

I had a similar experience... pre pandemic. I ordered some LED light bulbs on Amazon early in 2019... took most of the year to get them to me. Amazon had periodically kept me updated. I did not cancel since no one else locally had specifically what I wanted and on line no one had a price like Amazon.
I am going to order some more, in anticipation that I will need more before my lifetime expires.
