I have a Sony I love but I haven’t been able to find bigger lenses. I started doing wildlife photography and would like to do more but need better zoom lenses. Let me know what you have
From David To David, I gave myself a Sony a6600 for Christmas. Switching from Nikon so I'll be selling a few lenses soon. I bought a 16-70mm and a few days ago I got a 70-350mm. Both lenses are great. I dropped off my wife at the store and while waiting for her I was listening to the radio, an ad mentioned support your local small businesses. Just out of curiosity I called the only camera store in the state of Maryland, Service Photo in Baltimore, I asked them if they had a used Sony 70-350mm. I was shocked when the lady said they had one still in the box. So I got the pepper spray, and drove thru Baltimore. The lens is in new condition. Don't forget to try your local dealers, they just might surprise you.

Sony A500 or A5000? A500 is A-mount (plethora of older lenses available), A5000 is mirrorless E-mount, many lenses available (even other camera brand lenses) using adapters...Which one? (So we can help).

Many fine old lenses available for that mount (and many bodies too). You have choices of (among others) Minolta, Sony, Sigma, Tamron, Cosina/Tokina, and with adapters many others from Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Contax/Yashica & Yashica Auto, and more. If you don't mind manual operation the range is huge, if you want/need auto focus and metering then you are looking at roughly 1985 vintage up to current, not as big a selection, but still a good number of good to great glass (and some not-so-great).
Since you mentioned wildlife, then some reach and either prime or zoom (or both) would make sense... What range do you have in mind?. Since the A500 has many modern features, and live view, along with the APS-C 1.5X multiplier effect you get more "tele" out of your telephoto lenses. So my first inclination would be something in the 70-300 range, or possibly a 100-400, and of course you can always make the bigger jump into the XX/XXX to 500-600 arena. Or a prime in any of those ranges.
I will say right up front that I might have some you'd be interested in (some A-mount glass and bodies in my collection) Minolta/Sony/Sigma/Tamron, but would be glad to tell you what I think of any I have actually had or have used.
That’s awesome! I do have 70-30 but was looking for more zoom. I had been told i would only find them used which is fine. Then in Tetons last year I changed lenses and left my regular lense on the ground. Now all I have is the 300. 🙄 where should I look for bigger zoom lense?

KEH.com and UsedPhotoPro.com, and many of the major camera sellers like B&H, Adorama, Hunt's, Samy's, etc. have good used stock. All are great places to buy from. E-bay too, if you know what to watch out for.
As for what I might have, I will PM you with a short list of tele's/zooms I have and tell you about their condition and capabilities (if you like). Do also have some extra lenses (from buying/selling/trading) in the wide to short zoom, medium to long zooms, etc. (coverage from approx. 18mm to 3/400), some nice Minolta AF models, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, etc. 18-50, 18-70, 28-80, 100-200, 70-300, 18-200, 135-400, 100-400 etc. etc. If any of interest, I can provide pics and such. I'm a fair and honest trader.

I'll put together some info for you tonight or early Sat.
Check Shopgoodwill.com auction site. Nearly all my A-mount lenses came from there. Occasionally there are some really good Sigma and Tamron bargains. I check it every day for deals. My most recent was a Tamron 200 - 400 f5.6 zoom.
