Well it's another cold, dreary, drizzly day today and there is no fun to be had outdoors so I decided to create another composite image from multiple stock images.
I like to create images that tell a story and danger always lurks in the woods for even those in their prime. It's the age old game of the hunter and the prey. Stealth vs. speed and caution aware of the always watching eyes.
Creative! Looks like you are more than just a pretty face with focus stacks, Gary!

Thanks, UTMike. I've got a microscope LED ring light due to arrive any day for a lighting arrangement that I have in mind so I'm putzing around with other ways to keep busy.

Thanks, Quixdraw. I appreciate the reply.
Uh, what kind of bugs are in this focus stack? I don't recognize either of them.
Oh! Not bugs!
Considering the size of that Buck and his rack Wolfie better have several friends if he wants venison for dinner today.
Another excellent composite, sippy.

Thanks, and actually there is an insect called a "Snow Scorpionfly" that I would truly like to find. They are extremely sensitive to heat...even holding them can harm or kill them. Here's a picture of one taken from a web post.

Thanks, Kpmac. Just several stock images, layers and masks and a few cups of coffee.

Didn't of of those play an Alien Ambassador on Star Trek?

You question is more likely to be correct. Insects are the inspiration for many Sci-Fi characters. One reason it that they truly look alien and another is that many folks dread seeing an insect. Personally, I have a lot of respect for a creature that has survived...and thrived on earth for some 300-million years.
