Köln, Germany – the Cathedral, Part 2 (the Interior)

I have visited Köln (Cologne) in Germany several times over the years, and the cathedral there, too. Since I seem to specialize in church sets, and I found I’d not yet done one on the Köln Cathedral, I decided to do one now. The photos here are from different tours – specific information about when, etc. can be found by clicking on a photo, which will take you to the Flickr page for it. Part 1 is of the exterior and views from a trip up to above the ceiling (a rare event provided by the Orgelbau Klais Bonn company during their renovation of the Main Organ). Part 2 is of the church interior. Part 3 is of the stained-glass windows.

Beautiful photographs, David.

They sure don't build cathedrals like they used to.

Just got up, now making responses.

Hi, nimbushopper! Thank you very much. I’m pleased you enjoyed it.

blacks2, thanks for the 4 thumbs. I’m glad you liked them.

Jay, always happy to see you. Thanks for the thumb! I’m happy you enjoyed it.

rmalarz, I’m not sure I’ve seen you before—thanks for coming. I appreciate your nice comment. And yes, the only one in our country built the old way is the National Cathedral in DC. (You’re located not far from my birthplace—Bartlett Dam; really—at the dam.)

Earnest, always glad to see you. Thanks for the nice comment. I’m happy you liked them.

Doug, thank you very much! I’m pleased you liked them.

Excellent photographs of a beautiful cathedral!
We were there in 2019, but we only had 30 minutes inside, so I really enjoyed your detailed photographs. Thank you for sharing!
