I found it in the SW sky. Easiest way for me was to go out before it got dark enough to see stars, but after the sun went down. They were the first "lights up". I would say probably 6-7 inches off the level ground if you hold a ruler out in front of you and measure up.... maybe 30 degrees or so?

OK, I give up, everyone has said everything except what part of the sky is it in. How far up from the horizon is it?
Thanks in advance.

Look in the SW sky about two hands-width above the horizon (the horizon, not the rooftops!). That's about 8" approximately. That may not be right because I didn't measure it. They were higher in the sky than I expected. And that was about 6-7 PM. They do set, so the later it gets, the lower they will be in the sky.

Amazing shot! I tried similar settings on my Canon with 400mm lens (but hand held). No such details. :(

Rena, I went out last night but was blocked by trees. Love the rings on Saturn.
