Hit the lottery, so I'm getting a whole new camera system. Should I stay with Nikon or switch to Canon and a new computer, PC or Mac?

I'm planning on getting a new computer after Christmas. Started with a PC, then switched to Apple. So probably will stay with Apple. Actually, this post has nothing to do with cameras or computers, but instead is to bid all of you a good-bye. I've been a member of this forum for several years and have made friends with several of you. Lately, I have grown weary of where this forum is headed and you can read between the lines. It has become too much of a passionate rant from both sides and the owner of the forum exacerbates this bias through his own agenda and slant. I'm trying to make this as generic as possible so certain keywords don't get picked up by the algorithm trolls and the posting gets taken down. I have realized during the events of the past few months that I have been spending way too much time on this website. My wife was helpful enough to make me realize this because every time she walks past the computer, she sees the yellow screen. I kept time and realized she is correct, in that I spend at least 1.5 hours per day on this insidious trap. So tomorrow, I will no longer sacrifice my soul and bow down to the great god hedgehog. I have learned a few things about human nature from posters on this website and that's that we are highly emotional about our equipment, whether cameras or computers. But in the end, it's what we are comfortable with and how much time the choices remove from our lives. In the end, the very end, my grandkids and wife are the most important things on this earth to me and I want to spend more time with them, with less interruptions trying to answer a posting, rather than playing Uncle Wiggly. Hopefully this posting will stay up long enough for many of you to read it and do some serious soul-searching of your own too. I have noticed a lot of posters from the past year are no longer present. So good bye and have a merry "seasonal event" and happy holiday.

Seems like you forgot the topic you created after the first sentence.

That was just an attempt to keep the post from being moved to chit-chat.
It didn't work.

By the 64k apple system then add a hassy to your list, after all you claim to have won millions so you can afford the toy. I'll add a Bugatti to your list to move faster an in (dis)confort from shooting area to shooting area. If so inclined, even better, purchase a camping truck made in Switzerland. Add a designer alarm system (dog) to it.
If you really want to push it, get a six-wheeler camper...

I think what you're experiencing is what most all experience and that is after doing the same thing day after day after day after a while it becomes old and boring and that could be with most anything.

I believe the OP said exactly what he intended to say. The site brings out the worst of a lot of us (by design, I'm convinced), much strong opinion, and a limited amount of good information. There are better and much more pleasant places to smuch pend time, learn better, and be happier after it's all done.

Take more pics of the grandkids!! Enjoy life!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

If you go Canon....treat yourself to the 100-400, version 2. It might be worth the switch just for that lens.
