It wont do his reputation any good with a meltdown like that. I cant see someone like Tom Hanks screaming like that. A word with the producer/director would have probably produced the desired result.

Cruise is the producer. He still is a butt head. TH

Did you hear about Tom Cruise's rant on a movie set? He screamed at crew members for not following Covid guidelines. Some people are criticizing him for screaming, but his set was shut down three times because of Covid. This is a life and death situation. I would have told them to go home and stay home.

Good for him!

My wife played an online post of him doing his rant. I'm not a huge fan of him, but I don't despise him. I'm not a fan of his politics, either. But, hearing his rant, he was spot on topic. He simply made note of how serious this is, and how it affects everyone on the set's ability to work. And, if I was him, I would have done the exact same thing, as there might be a chance that the whole production could be shut down, maybe permanently. So, I support him and what he did based on what he said. it was right on point, and right on the topic. No more, no less, and I respect him for that. I might not have had the courage to do that. And I support his right to do that, and him knowing that he is probably one of only a few people who would have the clout to be able to do and say what he did righteously.

Also, I would bet that everyone on the production (cast and crew) had to agree to the protocols he was objecting to being violated prior to beginning work on that production, and then did not live up to that commitment. that, in itself, and with the seriousness of this usually would, in my mind, mean automatic termination, no further questions asked.

There are very few productions happening right now. Anyone working should damn well appreciate the protocols in place that allow them to be employed.

Cruise is the Executive Director. He is fearful of having to shut down the entire set and movie.

He is a jerk but in this case it would seem his rant and concern were justified.

What makes Tom Cruise an expert on 🦠 virus science?

Common sense and the California state guide lines, mandates and threat of punitive action. The state might even be threatening to make him move to and live in San Francisco. That alone should be enough to force someone to comply.

As far as Tom Cruise is concerned, it's his money and his rules. Not sure his approach will will inspire much desire among his staff to comply and as is already happening, he's driving away potentially people who agree with him in principal but not his style.

For another approach to dealing with Covid 19, read the Great Barrington Declaration. It's an approach endorsed by over 40,000 epedemiologists and medical professionals. And whether you believe it or not, it's apolitical.

Tom Cruise was right in this case, proving that even blind squirrels occasionally find an acorn. An accurate Covid rant would include a note that he and the crew are the beneficiaries of elitist favoritism / cronyism / hypocrisy because of their affiliation to big political donors and public political media outlets.

Too few people are being serious about stopping the spread. Hospitals are at or have reached their limits. I hate to think about the death count limit.

He is not. But he HAS to know about the protocols required of businesses to be able to operate and remain open. And that was what he was taking action on.
