I Discovered a New Photography Magazine!

New to me, that is. It's Smart Photography, which bills itself as "India's Leading Imaging Magazine." The issue I read was 100 pages (by contrast, the latest edition of Outdoor Photographer was 64 pages). Well-written articles in flawless English. I read the magazine on-line through my local library. If your library uses Overdrive, you probably have access as well.

Neat. My library has two, but no Kindle version. So I have to read in browser and I couldn't get the pages to enlarge via zooming (Google Chrome on Chromebook), so while the photos are beautiful, the text is miniscule. In what way are you able to view them?

I clicked on "Borrow," then was given the choice of Download ePub Book or Read Now in Browser. I clicked on Read Now in Browser and the magazine came up. Two pages per screen were displayed. I, too didn't see any zooming controls, but I was reading on a 24" monitor. I hope someone on UHH can tell us how to zoom in the app. Ctrl+ and Ctrl Mouse Wheel did nothing helpful.

I think I figured it out - click at the very bottom center, and the screen will change. You'll see a "zoom" control at the top of the screen with the O's magnified. That should help.

Oh, a couple of tools there! I see bookmarks and a scroll bar to move ahead by pages. I can zoom in, but can't leave it that way to continue to the next page. Thanks for the great tip, though, Dan. I'll explore further.

I just subscribed. $6.00 for 7 issues, one year. I’ve lost more than that in my sofa.

I'm trying to do this, but having difficulty. Would you mind sharing how you did this? Thanks in advance!

I use the Zinio app on my IPad. I subscribe to NPhoto and now this one. Reading is a pleasure on the app.

I have been subscribed to Smart Photography for a couple of years and I like it. I subscribed through zinio.com and read it on my ipad.
They have another called Photography Week, (I think they have a special of 2 yrs for $27) but stopped it because can't read one before the next issue comes in, but very good too.

About a week ago I acquired an app (via Google Play Store) called Libby which neatly and seamlessly connects my Amazon tablet to the County library via Overdrive. It's really quite good and worth Googling to see if you could use it. I was offered the app because I was a library card holder; completely free, with no input (such as personal info) required or requested. There are literally hundreds of magazines available to borrow, and I'll be looking for Smart Photography.
