p.12 And it "fits" perfectly here too. Been giving your new gear a workout?

Not yet. I just got my 24-105 Art about 5 days ago...only snapped a few shots...mostly of my cat, "Twinkie." I haven't even put it on my a77 yet. I might have to break out my focus target at some point. A99ii images don't seem spot on and I haven't tried anything at 5.6, 8, etc. so it might sharpen up, but then I had to adjust my 150-600 to negative 3 to get it sharp. Some lenses work right out of the box and some don't since they're not made at the same factory as the cameras. I'm expecting a dock in about a week or two...never used one, but it was free so what the hell. I think it only works on the newest lenses, like the art series, but I'm not sure. It would be nice if Tamron had such a thing.

I tried but I don't think it turned out very well. This is what our pine tree looked like after our recent snow storm.
The spider web is from my archives. I was not tying when I got that one.

Love the Web shot Jill..pg. 11

I posted this a month or 5 ago. Taken with my Sigma 105 macro @f/4 using my a99ii body, handheld, 1/160 sec. I thought the background was blurry enough that I didn't have to go f/2.8.

Lovely ..pg. 12

Bokeh is one of my favorite effects and is quite easy to produce. Bokeh is the Japanese word for "blur" and refers to blurred backgrounds and sharp subject focus. The shape of resulting bokeh is influenced by the mirrors/glass in the lens. Background lights create points of blurred light.

1) Shoot with your widest aperture. Zoom lenses can also work well

2) Get close to the subject

3) Have the background far from the subject

4) Look for beautiful backgrounds and lights.

Holiday decorations and lights are great for producing bokeh (but be sure to save some of your Holiday images for the challenge on Christmas decorations a week from now).

Looking forward to your bokeh pix.

Don't have much in this category.
I'm old old fashion, like every thing in shot focused sharply! But times that doesn't happen.
Here are a few than might apply to this challenge.
Lenses used were 24-70mm f2.8 or 18-400mm f3.5 zoom.

ISO=500, f8, SS=1/200, 24-70@63mm
