Great image & sky (and glad you're still in one piece).
I've taken a few early AM shots from the outcrop just adjacent to that parking lot. Absolutely gorgeous area views in pre-dawn and rising sun light.
Conditions, as well as the time of year and the seasonally related declinations of the sun, are key as well at that long established 'viewpoint.' First light can be pretty spectacular if there's dark clouds to the west and northwest, but views from that place can just as easily be pretty blah, depending. This shot (or more accurately, the half dozen shots that were made up into this pano iteration) was (late in the year, not quite 'wintertime' but close enuf) shot late in the afternoon. When I see the sun largely clouded over, I immediately think, 'where's a nearground/foreground place where I can use that background shrouded sun.'
It pleases me greatly that you've seen what you saw, too. Wouldn't mind seeing what you shot, rlynes.

And yes, the catfood, too. I'm not ready to be mauled to death quite yet.
Beautiful shot, Can, and I'm happy you haven't been scratched badly. jak

The ER doc said I'd probably heal. Eventually.
Cats have that effect on you. If nothing more they make you cut to the chase with anything not involving them, and it looks like you managed it handily here.

Um. Thanks, Feral. But could you PLEASE not use any sort of 'cut to the chase' wordage in the future? There are slashes and cuts that are in the process of TRYING to heal. And none of 'em are on either Chupa or Cabra, y'know?

I'll try to rein it in. And you'd better come to some sort of understanding with whatever cat has the upper hand.

"Some sort of 'understanding,'" Feral? Surely you jest. You --of all of the denizens on UHH-- surely have a better 'understanding' of cats than that. NO human personage will EVER penetrate the Mind Of A Cat. Much less, the Minds of TWO cats. As you well --perhaps through experience?-- know, they're completely inscrutable. (The minds of cats, I mean.)
One minute they'll purrrrrrr and look cute and be "loveable" and all that garbage; the next minute they'll be slashing away at your jugular. Then they'll reduce your universe to a bloody, gasping wreck, and your only hope is that you can reach the phone and with the stump of a hand, or maybe your nose, still be able to punch in 911. Knowing full well that even though the hospital is less than a mile away, help and the ambulance will arrive much, much too late.
'Scuse me, gotta go. The feed trough is almost empty.....
It must be a long way to the store; but, an excellent stop along the way.
Jim, that was a fine image and I am glad you had the chance to make it, what with the threat of the Kraken needing their kibble looming over you.
Great capture, composition and rendering as usual. Lighting is amazing. Please stay safe over the holidays and don't get mauled!

Well, here's a few from right at that location. Not full sized, but you get the vision.
Might have even gotten your small evergreen bush in a couple.

This mage makes me feel cold! Beautifully rendered-light, colors and textures combine into an excellent image! Thanx for sharing and happy holidaz!
Superb work on a beautiful scene, sir. Love the snow and stormy skies.
