Canon Pro 1000 problem

Hi gang. I'm printing 10 8.5x11 family calendars on double sided paper. Using lots of ink, when I was told it was time to replace the "PM" cartridge. fine, push in cartridge, not much movement, wouldn't release the cartridge & didn't snap it back. Tried several time using different techniques, no luck. Anyone have a solution besides a sledge hammer and a torch?

assuming the model pro-1000 is similar to the models pro-100 & old pro-9000, I have no idea what you are describing. Don't see how one cartridge can be stuck. The only odd thing with Canon printers is you have to wait until the printer head and ink assembly moves to the middle exposed area of the track it is on. Is there a top edge retainer lock that needs to be released first? I've seen that on other printers.

Lynn - I had the same problem with my original Pro-1000. No way to get the stuck cartridge out. This is a known problem with the printer. I called Canon support, and had a knowledgeable tech on the line for about 40 minutes. Tried a number of different things to no avail. Even though the printer was 2 months out of warranty, the tech made arrangements to ship me a new replacement and I shipped the broken printer back to them with postage paid by Canon.

Good luck!

Thanks. My morning project is Canon support.

Thanks for your consideration. This is a know problem with Pro-1000. There isn't a known cure, so I'm grasping at straws.

OK, thanks for replying to my reply. I'll have to find a manual for your model so I can see how the ink cartridges are inserted and different from the models I've owned. Interesting that the Canon Model Pixma Pro 1, 10, 100, 1000 are so different. I'm curious now.

I have a Pixma Pro 100 and cannot find a manual. I'm having a lot of problem getting it to print. I get 11 flashes indicating a paper jam while there is none and it will feed a blank page through when I hit the feed button and will not print. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Did you try feeding through both the rear tray and the manual feed?

Also, try unplugging from the wall and then press the power on button a few times. Then reconnect power.

On the same subject, I have a Canon Pixma 100 printer for several years and I was very happy till last week. The service light went on and it shows code “B200” I called Canon service department and they connect me with JustAnswer technician. They told me I need to pay $ 5.00 and I agreed to pay for any help. I received some instructions which didn’t help but it was ok with me for the small change, till I received an email that December 20th I will be paying $ 46.00 for the first months service. It took me several hours to get connected to customer service to cancel a contract I never asked for. During the initial contact with the technical support I had made sure I was not agreed to any future service. Please be careful.

Official service and support as is on their listings, and I followed their step by step instructions then some how I found my self speaking to a technician in JustAnswer support team. Their phone number is 800-964-0961 and the rest of it is on my previous post. I m sure they have taken care the issue.
