Bokeh is one of my favorite effects and is quite easy to produce. Bokeh is the Japanese word for "blur" and refers to blurred backgrounds and sharp subject focus. The shape of resulting bokeh is influenced by the mirrors/glass in the lens. Background lights create points of blurred light.
1) Shoot with your widest aperture. Zoom lenses can also work well
2) Get close to the subject
3) Have the background far from the subject
4) Look for beautiful backgrounds and lights.
Holiday decorations and lights are great for producing bokeh (but be sure to save some of your Holiday images for the challenge on Christmas decorations a week from now).
Looking forward to your bokeh pix.

Used a zoom lens and the background was across the street!

A setting sun bouncing off snow and ice created the background bokeh

Polka dot sunrise - the bokeh here is created by light bouncing off the lens inner glass.

It makes a perfect background emphasizing the portrait.
Here's one from early September 2020. Baby Bighorn Sheep taken in the Badlands South Dakota. Try Double download. Thanks for this challenge!
