I am very impressed by a number of factors here, the great photograph, the very neat, (old fashioned word for great) grandkids, their talent in making the boxes, their wanting to make the boxes and your husband giving his time to those kids, and the quality of the family time spent together.

Kudos to all,

Dennis

Every year my husband holds a woodworking class for our five grandchildren - here are this year's results which will be given as Christmas presents to various family members. The boxes are black walnut and the three part nativity scene has a wooden mechanism that allows it to fold down when the lid is shut. The kids did a very impressive job!

Not sure it's fair to have so much talent in just one family. Great tradition. Great work (to the kids) on some wonderful Christmas gifts.

Very nice!!! Do you have a photo of the inside of one of them. I would like to see one close up.

Thanks!!

Dodie

The kids took theirs home but here are a couple shots of the boxes Chuck made. The first one will be going to the gentleman who gave us the black walnut lumber and the second one is for our daughter. It is a musical candy box which plays "Ochi Chernye" - if you've ever seen the 1940 movie "Shop Around the Corner" you'll understand the reference!
