A few From Today, Macro, Macro.. 10/13
These are fantastic pictures!
This look like your best work yet.
Thanks Blurryeyed I appreciate your time. You rate right up with Erv in my people I wish I knew better. That is a great video with a lot more info.
Blurryeyed do you know of a video explaining the layering process? Does anyone know if it is process on Picasa 3. Thanks again for your help and time.

No, I just saw Shahan explain in one of his videos that he stacks using photoshop layers and does it manual, he also said that he only uses a few images when doing so which makes sense because he shoots handheld in the field. I do the same sometimes but I am not nearly as good as Shahan, If I have a couple of photos that are very near the same pose from the same bug I will drop guide lines around a predominate feature such as an eye and then drag a new layer in and use those guide lines to position my layer... Then erase the areas where I want the bottom layer to show through. It is important to have your eraser tool on 0 hardness as it feathers the two layers so that there are no hard lines.
I generally shoot manual with the same settings so there is not generally a need to make major levels adjustments to blend the two images...
Thanks my friend I always appreciate your help. I am going to start looking at more of the Shahan videos. I guess it would be smart to see if Picsa3 even allows layering.

Picasa doesn't do layers...Newer versions of Elements do though IIRC...
Elements 10 also can do focus stacking using the Photomerge group shot. Brian Peterson's website has a how to video on it.
Dang! I'm always late to the party....
Great captures, fstop. I really like the looks of the one in the first picture.
The little critters are nothing to fear. I've let them walk on my hand. Tickles a little but that's about it. If one charges you, just tap your finger in front of it and it will scurry off. Cute little buggers...
Thanks Scott i guess I will take little more time learning how to take good picture then worry about how to change for the better.
Blurryeyed - have you ever taken photography course of any sort?
Absolutely amazing images-the Tokina again?

love it...saw my first wild Tarantula a few weeks ago..all the years I have been in Hill Canyon nearby never saw one..hightailing across the trail with a dragonfly in its mouth...had my 105 macro on me. We tried to stop her by putting out hiking boots out in her path..she went up on her haunches..and backed up really fast and went around us...tried to chase her down but she was a tough customer..I did get some shots but not as sharp as yours..
Love the macro stuff...check me out at jk48..
Grate shots I hope after the big STORM this weekend will be able to get some shots myself.
I love spider eyes!! Amazing shots!
