He is not even from the U.S. (Canada). You would expect a dispassionate objective observational analysis from afar as you would give. But that's what happens when hate infects a person probably jealous of our country and system.

He certainly seems jealous of the U.S. doesn't he?

Sad isn’t it

I am deeply offended that you chastise "foreigners" for sticking their nose into American politics... but only if they do not support your views.

He never said anything about, "...only if they do not support your views."

Many on here have told foreigners who criticize Trump to get lost because they don't care what the rest of the world thinks. Yet many others appreciate an outsider's perspective.

Graham seems to be supportive of Trump as judged by his encouraging Trump to pursue his legal cases, and Fotoartist welcomed his outsider perspective on the US election while being critical of my views on Trump. I don't recall if Fotoartist himself has told me to take a hike (actually, I don't think he is that crass), but others certainly have.

The truth is I am not actually offended. I just think it sad that anyone thinks that it does not matter what another country thinks of their country.

While I agree with much of what you have said, why do you think it is sad if someone does not care what someone from another country thinks about them?

This guy is a low grade troll he posts one provocative thread after the other to stir our divisions. Even conservatives don't credit Beck with much.

That kind of attitude oozes arrogance, which is not an admirable trait.

John Frim, You sound like a good, reasonable respectable, likeable man. You are quite correct, I am supportive of Donald Trump's efforts, to establish the truth, relating to, 'if fraud has taken place in your Presidential Election'. Believe me, if the boot was on the other foot, I would say Joe Biden would have every right, to establish the legality of this very important vote count, himself. I really mean that. it has never happened here in the UK, in my eighty years on this earth. Just to think, of the vote being rigged, it would be an absolute horrendous despicable act, that could effect the whole world. Like myself, you have heard of accusations from both parties, referring to skulduggery. Maybe a thorough inquiry would clear the air, once and and for all, if the truth was proven either way.....but what do I know???? My wife has visited your country many times and still does, she adores it and the folks. With this in mind and my association with many friends here on UHH I have quite a fond affection for America and it's people. You must be honest, as I am belong honest with your good-self. Some of your major American cities, run by democrats are in an horrible disgusting messes, this is not, personal against your goodself, it is common knowledge, in video after video. I am not tucked away in some tiny English village without the internet, television, radio etc etc. I do follow the news and try to keep abreast of what is happening, in times like this, of our ''Crazy, Crazy World'' God bless......

Cheers and Beers

Graham, I appreciate your thoughtful and honest response. I, too, have many good friends in the US and think highly of the majority of Americans. I have lived and worked in the US for about 7 years and have travelled America extensively, probably more than most of its citizens. For the record, I also lived in the UK (Farnborough, Hants) for just under 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Living so close to the US in a somewhat "isolated" North America makes the CA-US relationship special... and critical. I love the people and the country, and it bothers me tremendously that they are having the political problems that undermine the very foundations of democracy. And that problem extends well beyond their borders, as you have acknowledged. So I find it strange that many Americans here on UHH have no interest/concern about how the US is viewed by other countries. I get that they feel a gut punch when people disparage their president, but there are ways of dealing with that other than telling the outsiders to Foxtrot-Oscar.

Election mistakes happen; that's a fact. As for outright fraud, I believe both sides are capable of it, and probably even guilty. Accidental mistakes would be counting errors, misplaced ballots, etc, and I believe the number of incidents is small and will generally not affect the outcome. Intentional fraud on a massive scale -- enough to swing an election -- is bad and wrong. And yes, it should be investigated and prosecuted. I have no problem with Trump asking for recounts where margins are close, but how many times does one have to do a recount before the numbers are believed? As for fraud, evidence should be followed. But after more than 30 law suits that have provided no credible evidence it seems like the answer is clear... Biden won.

It is time for the country to move on, and the decent thing would be for Trump to cooperate and follow tradition and custom. But Trump is Trump, and there will be no change in his character. He will dominate the news for at least a few more years, especially if he plans a re-run in 2024. So you and I will have plenty of material to follow and comment on in The Attic.

All the best.
J

Your response is very fair and simiart to what I wrote and believe, as a debate should be. I am not at all surprised at your reply and it was very well received and welcomed. On the occasions when people get riled up and flame wars begin, is when it is obvious the writer is OTT and it is obviously out of order. More respect, would add enjoyment to each others point of views, but as I say some people are blinkered their view is very narrow. As the saying goes, there are two sides to every coin. When- ever Donald Trump is in the limelight there will action and controversy'. As you said watch this space!!!!!! for the next instalments,
Cheers and beers

Well said. Contrary to some Hoggers, it is possible to have a political discussion without questioning others birth legitimacy, intellect, or good intentions.
