The notion of parallel universes and stories associated with them is fascinating. The latest one I saw is "The Man in the High Castle", a Netflix series. It just completed it's 4th and final season. Worth a look if you are into this genre.

I went looking for that series and did not find it on Netflix. A search on IMDB did locate it on Amazon Prime video, though.

If time travel is ever possible, this is the most important thing someone can do. Go back into the past and tell all these ancient people to keep better records.

Time travel cannot change the future...lol.

My son is watching a show on the computer about people trying to guess what ancient artifacts are and who made them. Lots of guesswork.

What show was that?

Hay Jerry I travel into the future every day minute by minute.

I think you're referring to the present.

No idea. It was something on YouTube, and they guy thought that the Irish and Egyptians visited this country hundreds of years ago, so I wouldn't put too much faith in that.

Talking about "Historical Artifacts" have you seen the film "Galaxy Quest (1999)".

Who says time travel is impossible? I was just telling DaVinci...

If I desire to travel two hours into the future I just wait 120 minutes.

The problem is time is also linked to space.
Everything is moving...in many directions all at once.
If you went back a single day...the last thing you would see is the Earth...in the distance.
Even just a few minutes would be a real challenge.
80% chance you'd end up in the ocean...or perhaps inside a mountain.

The Irish would have been St Brendan circa 500 CE. The voyage was replicated in 1976 (it might have 1977) by Tim Severin using a reconstruction of the boat from a description in a 900 CE text about the voyage.

The Africa to North America journey was replicated by Thor Heyerdahl in 1970 (the Ra II expedition)

While no hard evidence exists for either except a text written 400 years after Brendan's journey, both voyages have been duplicated using historically accurate watercraft.

Just because we haven’t figured out how to do it yet doesn’t make it impossible. After all, airplanes, cars, atomic bombs, the internal combustion engine, radio and many more things were impossible...right up until they weren’t.

Despite the claims of some of the radical left...there is no such thing as settled science and any real scientist would agree with that.
