Many programs have a "watermark" feature, or ability to create a "brush" with your signature or logo.

If your software doesn't offer such a feature, this method works if your software uses layers. First, create your signature or logo and save it as a png file with a transparent background. Next, simply add it to your photographs as a separate layer, then adjust its size, position and transparency to suit your taste.

Dear Amphoto...I like "add watermark" and will try this for a while to decide if I want to go to 50% transparency. Thank you for the help.

Here's a sample of what I use on requested photos, a text layer at 20% opacity. (Lower right)

Dear Fred... I am trying "add watermark" and will use this watermark for a while before deciding if I want to go to 20% transparency. I enjoy positioning my logo where it is least obtrusive but effective. Thank you for your help.

If you have an Apple product, you can use Mark UP. It comes free with the Photos App.

As I continue to improve on my bird pictures, I would like to have my name inconspicuously included in each of my images to show that they were taken and edited by me. My limited photographic knowledge prevents me from doing so without having a white background behind my signature. Would you please advise me how more experienced photographers do this without taking away from the power of their creations. Thanking you in advance. Shooter41

Just use your texting on your editing software or go online lots of free options

Great advise here but keep in mind, if someone wants to borrow/steal your image, then Photoshop to get rid of your watermark and there's nothing you can do about it. Personally, when I see that someone has borrowed one of my images without asking, I'm flattered. That meant that they really really liked it. So I don't really care. I do use a watermark most of the time, but it's really there just so that I can get my name out there and so that I can ID my own work. Some bird pics are very similar. Good luck...

Do you use Lightroom Classic? It can be easily done with LR.

Dear DWU2...I cannot afford Lightroom Classic. I am using Photoshop CS4 I bought; Exposure 5 and Ps. Since I posted, I discovered "add watermark" and it works great and is free on Microsoft.com. Thanks for your input.
