Before criticizing someone else's mental abilities, you may wish to proofread Your dericive comments before submitting them to the membership.

I suggest it would be a more effective when calling someone names such as " stupid as a box of rocks" that you not include such a basic grammatical error. It reflects poorly on your intelligence.

You mean like your spelling of derisive?

Sometimes a guy with too much time on his hands just can't resist.

Thanks, Covid.

I’m sorry, I just couldn’t resist.

As to any other errors, I don’t see anything major, but if I were being critical, I would remove the space after the initial quotation mark in “box of rocks”, and add a comma after the closing quotation mark.

Now if karma is functioning today, you should be able to find at least one error in the above. As an aside, I agree with your initial comment - rudeness is not appropriate.

This was all meant in fun 😎.

Cheers,
Chris

I recently bought an inexpensive Canon all-in-one printer model MG3620 from Target. When I tried to connect it to my MacBook and download the driver, I got an error message that announced a “critical error.” It said to call a support number. When I did, the tech had me go through a bunch of things and he concluded my computer had a Trojan worm. He wanted me to proceed to investigate with him. I got a bad feeling and told him I would only deal with Apple and he hung up. I did some research and evidently this is a scam where he eventually would have charged me $99. Btw, I never have been able to connect and the printer is going back. I did run an antivirus check with a Bitdefender, supposedly the best antivirus program for at least Mac, and nothing showed up. What is Canon doing, allowing something like this fraud to be perpetrated on purchasers?

As many have noted so far: you got a phony website.

I have called Canon for some pretty silly things with my printers. They've always spent a fair amount of time with me (once over two hours), and never ever hinted at a charge.

I have a friend whose 24" printer, out of warrantee, was acting funny. Canon sent a tech out, and he spent a day there. Not only time, he used up most of the ink in the machine. Tech came out next day, again, with a new set of ink (not an small amount of $). Fixed problem, finally, and never charged for time or ink.

They are good folks.

I've had OK experiences with Canon service for printers. My old one was obsolete so they were not crazy about dealing with it. But they helped me with my Canon PIXMA PRO-100. And I hear from my Canon camera friends that Canon has excellent service if not the best (for pros certainly).

Somehow the OP got scammed or spoofed. I once got trick via a Web search for help and got on some trick fee based site. Luckily they were not real crooks and did not mess up my computer. But when they started quoting fees for things that should be free or a very minimal fee from the rightful manufacturer I hung up on them and then finally did contact the REAL company and had them start helping me by running malware and virus scans. Turned out the weirdos on wanted to charge a fee and did nothing to me. You should always initiate the contact as well.

Let’s see if i got this right, you bought a printer. It didn’t work. You called a bogus number. They tried to get you to pay for some bull sh## fix and that’s Canons fault? Your dumber than a box of rocks...get a life..

I don't think personal insults were needed to make your point. By the way, it should be "you're", not "your". I wouldn't normally correct someone's spelling, but when you call someone "dumber than a box of rocks" I'll make an exception.

I get a fraud call, at least once a day on both my landline and cell claiming my I Cloud account has been breached. Needless to say, I don't have an I Cloud account. Check out my web site scamslammers.com I have many scams documented there.

Some years ago after experiencing dissattisfaction with Epsons, I bought a Canon Pro 100 (not a Pixima) and I love it as it does everything I could ask for in a printer: great prints, great color, no problems! I've had a couple on display for years with no fade or color change as far as I can see, ome is 13x19 of a Sonoma beach, the other 8x10 of one of my pointing dogs standing on point. Sorry to hear Canon has slipped, hopefully just that printer.

Harry, Canon hasn’t slipped - just a little miscommunication between user and website (PBCAK) and a premature accusation.
