If you're paying by check, this is all information printed on the check. It's how they can identify your account to the bank, and without it, they cannot process a claim against your bank account. Any time you write a paper check, you're handing over this information.

If you're not paying by check or using a direct payment from your checking account, they don't need this info.

Tony:

They need your Routing No. to identify your bank, and your Account No. in which to electronically post a deposit to it.

From a former banker.

That is what I do. The fewer people that have access or knowledge about your financial accounts the better it is. If they refused to send ME a check I would tell them to stuff it and return the article to me.

I had no problem dealing with them in the way they ask. But, if security is a concern, I would telephone them and orally provide the routing number. I would never send a routing number and account number in e-mail.

Sold something to them and this is what I received today in an email:

"In order for us to process the ACH payment into your bank account, please fill in your routing and account numbers by clicking the secure link below. Please double check your payment details before submitting."

I know they are a reputable company, but I am feeling a little apprehensive about giving them this info. Would like to hear your opinions and/or experiences when selling to them.

Tony

Did you select ACH as a payment option? If so, they want this information so they can make an electronic payment directly to your bank account. If you are not comfortable with that and want a paper check mailed to you, contact them to see if that is an option.

No offense, but you're being paranoid. That's how MPB makes payment. It's common practice and doesn't constitute authorization for them to take money from your account. Relax.... I've used them multiple times to buy and sell. Buying has always required exactly what they are asking of you.

I bought a Zeiss Distagon 35mm lens from them a few months ago, and was very satisfied with them and their customer service personnel. If you're apprehensive, give them a call and speak to one of their very customer-friendly customer service representatives.

I pay the majority of my bills online, and many require the routing and account numbers. I have had 0 problems for the 4 years I have been doing it. I understand that I am paying, but I would not hesitate to go the other way, should I purchace something from a reputable company, such as MPB

I have sold quite a few things to them, and by furnishing this information, I generally get my money deposited in my bank account the next day.

Try using a cash app. They will take the transfer into ur account with them. You are the only one that can withdraw from account.

They are very reputable. You are safe with them. This is the fastest and safest way to get paid.

I haven't read all 4 pages of reply's, but I have read where several folks have said that this is the way they pay. I sold them a camera about a month ago and requested, by phone, to be paid by check. Three days later the check was in my mail box.
