The guys who cut down my 80y/o oak were amazing. More backbone than brains was my comment.
A tree trimmer we hired was killed in an accident a few weeks later. He was high up in a bucket without a safety belt lowering a tree section suspended from the bucket. It broke loose and the sudden loss of weight caused the bucket to spring up catapulting him out of it. Dangers on every hand.
Or as a high-rise window washer.
Good work recording this sequence.

You will get used to do this work, whether it is a tree taking down, skyscraper window washing or bulb changing on a TV/cell phone tower? It is a making living.
If you think that is scary, how about these guys that climb TV transmission towers to change light bulbs. I was scared watching the video and I am fearless.
In the 70's I worked at a bank that was built 1898, so we had window washers. I'm sitting at my desk, the window washer walks in hooks up 2 "pins" that were built into the wall in 1898, and walks out onto the window ledge, 14 stories up. I watched and thought not me. Since then I've stood in front of really big grizzly bears and photographed them and thought nothing of it. But walk out on a ledge 14 stories up-NO WAY.
They always told me if you want your child to be an iron worker you drop him on his head several times when he is born. Same would apply for 14 story window washers. A scrambled brain is a wonderful thing.
That is a young mans job. IF you fall, a big problem.
Just a day's work for him, but no for you or I! Thanks for sharing some great images.

Very nice images!!!!
Hell I would do it for half that price!!! If I could
I'm amazed at how fearless these guys can be. I had a tree that was 25' taller than my two story house. The guys climbed up and had it completely down in less than 30 minutes. Every limb was lowered and nothing was dropped or damaged. I was pretty impressed.

At least he was sitting on the proper side of the cut...that doesn't always happen.
