I see that tbe Fuji XT3 with the 16-80 lens is on sale for $1499. Do you think this is a good deal?

Looks like the XT-4 is out, so this is common: the manufacturer reduces the price of the previous model.

I have purchased several lenses and camera bodies this way (same with software, PS Elements), and on top of that I've found used models. Adorama has the kit you're asking about for $1419. It's offered as "used/open box."

If you've been lusting after this camera and can't sleep at night because of your desires, then YES it's a good deal 😁

Not really when the X-T4 has so much more. Maybe if they priced it at $999.

This is a good deal, but shop around. The XT-4 has a little more, but not much, especially after the most recent firmware update, which brings auto-focus up to the same level as the XT-4. The XT-3 is a terrific camera & the 16-80 lens hits the sweet spot.

The IBIS looks like the biggest thing, wouldn’t you say?

Compare that with the original - or recent - price, and decide if there is enough of a reduction to make it worth your while.

I checked. The camera alone was $1,500, $1,900 with the 15-55mm lens. The XT4 is $1,700 for the body alone.

The next step is to read comparisons and decide which one is better for you. Saving money is good, but not if your regret not having what you really want.

It is now the updated free software has arrived making it not that far off the XT-4

It’s a good deal. The latest XT3 firmware update delivers the same AF performance as the XT4, and the 16-80 lens is stabilized. Both camera bodies share the same sensor. But if you plan to shoot mostly with Fuji’s excellent primes (not stabilized), the IBS of the XT4 may be worth it.

Not really. No ibis in X-T3. Many fuji lenses do not have is which makes ibis valuable.

Watch it where you put your Hyphens with Fujifilm models. X-T3 and XT-3 could be very different products and many years apart. Or other combinations for other Fuji products.

Which Fuji product does XT-3 refer to?

Sometimes the latest model isn't the best - as in the case of the Canon 6D Mark 11, where the sensor in the original 6D is reported to be sharper.

What's the point of the new one then?

Every camera company uses the same sensor in multiple generations.
