I just bought a 1974 model Nikkormat EL that looks pristine but I would like to have it CLA'd and the light seals replaced.
Any suggestions for a good place to send this camera and ideas on the cost for a CLA without any parts other than seals.
Thanks

There is a member of UHH, Rick Riggins (He has a very good name on this site) who repairs cameras and lenses. Do a search on his name and have a word with him. I hope this helps.
I also recommend lezot.com as used them twice (a camera and an old Kodak slide projector) and was very satisfied both times.

Zack's is a good place. He CLA'ed my WerraMatic and did a fine job.

I go to Mark for all my Yashica repairs and highly recommend him for that brand.

It is important to patronize our local camera repair shops whenever possible. I just learned a couple of weeks ago that our stellar local repair shop, Archinal Camera Repair, is no longer in business. The dual whammy of the virus and the elimination of support by Nikon USA combined to be more than they could withstand. Archinal had been in business since 1920 and in the Dallas area since about 1950. I will miss them greatly and hope they can reopen at some point
I used Professional Camera Repair in Houston to fix the focus problem on my Bronica S2a and give it a CLA. The cost was moderate, given that the Bronica is pretty complicated under the hood!
Just recently Advance Camera in Portland Oregon finished a CLA and rangefinder "alignment' on my Contax IIa. While their work isn't cheap, the camera is fine. Before that they'd worked on my AsahiFlex IIb, full CLA and a new mirror. The little gem looks and feels like new.
BTW, light seals are generally easy to replace. Google Jon Goodman. or use this link:

or Try KEH - used them in past
I too have sent lenses and cameras to Midwest Camera Repair with good success. Each time I was able to talk with the technician over the phone to be sure they understood the issues, and what I wanted from their services. Good luck with your choice. JimR. (PS: Southeastern Camera here in Raleigh does some limited repairs, but it depends on who is on their staff and capabilities.)
