DJD Loc: Seal Beach, CA

Had a pretty good outing at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve the other day. The Osprey was reasonably close and constantly calling out to his/her mate who was about a 1/4 mile away. I guess he/she was saying lunch was ready. Regarding the last photo (red-tailed hawk), I thought I'd experiment with photoshop's sky replacement. I kind of like the look, but have to realize that other than the hawk, the rest of the photo is someone else's work. This day's sky was bright, no clouds and it seemed I was always shooting towards the sun. Photos best viewed on download. As always, thanks for viewing.

A great series, sharp and well positioned. My favorite is the red-tailed hawk (1) I understand it is solely a matter of taste, but I do like the "natural" sky a lot better. Also you see the bird (which is what you were photographing) much clearer! My $0.02!

All excellent captures of the birds. Renderings are excellent. Until I saw the last image, I was favouring the egret shot, because of the colours, but I think the sky you chose to use for the last rendering really complements the pose and colouring of the hawk. If you don't like using other people's skies, it is just a matter of time to build your own library. Please stay well and keep on sharing.
