NIkon Tethering

I have a Nikon D7200 and I'd like to shoot tethered. I use Lightroom now, exactly what do I need as far as software goes. I know Canon has their EOS free for tethering. I believe the one that goes with the Nikon has a cost. Is anyone familiar with Camera Control Pro2 and since I have a Mac Pro can I download it? Is it difficult to use?

Like Mr.T said....easy. I did it recently with a Mac. I used Thether Pro. Tell them what computer and camera you have and they send the cable with the correct plug configurations. It is easy and it is great being able to immediately see your photograph.

I have a friend who shoots with Nikon gear and does a lot of tethered shooting. He now uses Capture One Pro as he loves it for tethering. I believe he used Lightroom before that.

I have lightroom on my laptop, and I just connect my camera ( I have 3 Nikons) to the laptop bring up Lightroom and shoot away. I can see each picture and tweak away. It works great.

Tethering is available in lightroom classic. Not Lightroom CC. connect your camera with a usb cord to your PC. From Lightroom Classic you go to File/tethered capture/ Start Tethered capture and you will see a bar show up at the bottom of your screen with a control for your camera. You may use that or shoot from your camera. That's what you need to know. Enjoy.

Thank you. The reason I thought to use Camera Control Pro 2 from Nikon was because it supposedly is faster. I'm a food blogger and I do quite a few shots at once. It would be great for flatlays so I can see what the camera is focused on.

Thank you. I'm going to see what works best. I'm taking photos daily and it sure would be nice and time saving for me to capture exactly what I want.

I'm sorry to show my ignorance. What does"shoot tethered" mean?

Shooting tethered means that you connect your camera to your computer or another monitor. This way you can see what you are shooting on a screen. You can also release the shutter and change your camera settings.
