Who knows.
They demonstrated it using L lenses to show that the lenses could resolve properly with 250 mp sensor though.
Likely not consumer cameras but it shows they could easily do, say, a 120 mp consumer camera and it would work just fine with the current crop of Canon lenses.

I would guess they would have to overcome things like noise with medium high ISO, unless they put it in a medium format camera instead of a 35mm. If Nikon would do this it would perk my interest, I would like a medium format camera, but don't want to spend money for another brand. in the film days I had 3 Mamiya C330, 2 Mamiya 645 ADF III and a Mamiya RZ67 Pro. Could never afford a Hasy.

Noise etc. would be NO problem seeing as it is 250 for high resolution commercial work.
I am sure if put in a consumer camera the same tech will be used.
Look at the R5 sensor as beating all others in the noise department now.

These two examples compare the R5 against (1) Z7 (2) D850. When compared to the Z7 the R5 wins out for a few important reasons and one being sensor size (lower in the Nikon). When compared to the D850 the Nikon pulls ahead of the R5, but that may be an unfair comparison due to mirror-less compared to DSLR.

The D850 is primitive compared to the R5.

Primitive? That is one of the most desired cameras on the market.

And very outdated.
Struggles extremely when doing video as the AF cannot keep up with any motion as most cameras easily do.

So?
Many pros and others do both.
They need a camera that is well rounded and capable of quality AF regardless of what is being done not just a limited/crippled capability.

What ever, to each their own. As I stated I don't do video and I stopped doing weddings back in the 70's, now it is generally wildlife and landscape.
