I use Google Drive a lot to send images to people.
I have heard that We Transfer is another option that has a free version, but I have not used it yet/ .

Do you have to send the photo or just the image? I often have to transmit advertising layouts that include multiple photographs, which have to be approved by my client or printed. I send them as PDF files.

If you are using an Apple product such as iphone or ipad then Mail drop will work.
With Mail Drop, you can send attachments up to 5 GB in size. You can send these attachments right from Mail on your Mac, the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and from iCloud.com on your Mac or PC. All files types are supported and attachments don’t count against your iCloud storage. If a message, including its attachments, is larger than your Internet Service Provider (ISP) limit, Mail will ask you to send the attachments using Mail Drop.

Hope it is OK to jump in here with a Drop Box question. I downloaded Drop Box because my daughter wanted to send me a goup of pixtures through Drop Box. Not knowing exactly what I was doing I check "My Files, My PIctures and My downloads" as Drop Box was setting up........NOW nearly all my files (2 Gigs worth) have been transfered to Drop Box which I definitely don't want and I don't know how to reverse it. Drop Box says I will loose all my files. On top of this...since my 2 Gig limit on Drop Box is full I can't open my daughter's pixtures. Any help how to get my files back on my computer would really be appreciated.

Texas - delete the folders/images on dropbox that you don't need them to store.

Dropbox.com places the file(s) in a cloud folder where they remain waiting to be downloaded by whomever you give permission.
I've begun using wetransfer.com which notifies the recipient that they have to down load them. After a certain time (1 or 2 days) they are gone.

In the UK I use transfers which is a free transfer program I normally at least 1 gb of photos in one go and it is free although the recipient only has six days to view and save them to a file

Thanks, Bill. I was going to do that, but Drop Box said they would be permantly deleted and irretrievable..and I was afraid to take the chance.
