Fantastic images!

How did you get the planes' exposures to come out so well against a bright blue sky? Was it done manually or did you use AE with a stop or two lighter with a spot setting ?

That is one issue I've had at various air shows and fly-ins with different colored planes and types of sky. Yes, I know I have a lot to learn still but would appreciate any tips.

WOW !!!!!!! Very good shots. I was there Saturday and the weather held it back some but Sunday was better and this looks like the day you were there. I got close to 2000 shots, one JPEG and one RAW.
I am sorting them out and hope to post some this week. You did very very well Mingus.
Thanks for sharing.
Bruce.

Thanks! I knew that with the bright sky backlighting the planes they would be underexposed, so I added 2/3 stop of exposure compensation. With that they just needed a bit of tweaking in Lightroom

Very Nice ! Stirred memories as an Air Force vet . Was with a mobile radar unit and went with the F-15 to Europe when it first came out . Thanks for sharing .

Thank you all. I have tried some “birds in flight” so I had some basis for doing these. Much easier in many ways because they were at least predictable
