Hello, I would like to print a poster from a digital image I took. Recommendations?

Costco does horrible B&W prints.

I recently wanted to get a photo printed at 16X20. The original was taken with a 12 MP camera. I searched and decided on Nations Labs for the job, with pleasing results. The prices was reasonable and all I had to do was electronically send the image. I did resize the image in PSE before sending it.
There are numerous printing companies on the internet. Google photo printing companies and you can find one to suit your needs.
Good luck.
This would look nice printed on metal... I know there are several companies that do that.

If you just want a poster, not a fine print, go to OfficeMax. Their printing services can provide a very good poster on plain or semi-gloss papers at a very reasonable cost (and you can get it done the same day you order if you're early enough). My camera club has had them print posters, which contain photographs, to advertise our annual Art Studio Exhibit.

I have had such great results with Walgreens that I have not got around to trying the other places in town that charge twice as much.
