I'm an astronomy fan and always appreciate lunar images. Looking at the two images, other than being somewhat lighter for the second 5-stack image, I don't see much difference in detail. Be curious what your opinion is looking at the originals.

My impression is that a short stack is only slightly better than the worst shot in the set. I mostly do HH, so am in the process of doing some tripod work to discover the facts. The full moon is always the most difficult in terms of detail. Clouds tonight are not cooperating.

Hadn't seen anything that caught my eye photographically all day - out with the dogs, clear skies and the moon was up. A couple of shots with D7200 AF S Nikkor 200- 500 5.6 E ED hand held. The second is a five shot stack. It occurred to me that I haven't tried the D810 for moon shots. The extra MP might deliver more detail. If the weather cooperates will try tonight. Might be interesting.

A bit of smoke oil the air out there? Great shots thanx for sharing.

Pretty much back to normal here - out by the front range yesterday, still some stacked by the mountains, but no odor, and clarity at closer distances. Thank you for looking & commenting!

Mostly clear her, too except that the fires keep burning. Another Northward swing of the Jet Stream and back to the smoke again.
