AD 1947 - The NEW YORK YANKEES defeat the BROOKLYN DODGERS by a score of 5-3 in the first ever televised WORLD SERIES game.

AD 1938 - Arthur Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and French Premier Édouard Daladier signed an agreement with Der Fuehrer of Germany Adolf Schicklgruber which surrendered German annexation of the Sudetenland, in western Czechoslovakia giving the world what Chamerlain declared as “peace for our time.” Less than six months later Schicklgruber's forces invaded the remainder of Czechoslovakia.

AD 1520 - Sultan od the Ottoman Empire, Selam I, is succeeded by Suleiman the Magnificent.

Regarding AD 1938, there was a film clip of Chamberlain waving a paper while exiting an airplane and saying he had Adolph Hitler’s signature. How much that meant showed a year later.

This from a New York Times article dated May 6, 1990:

Way cool...! How does one get the name, "Magnificent"..? I think that I would like that. "Sippyjug the Magnificent" although I know that my Better Half would definitely disagree. 😊
