It was an embarrassing shouting match rather than a real debate.

Losers: the moderator who had no control whatsoever and people who actually watched the fiasco.
Winners: those with enough sense to turn it off and do something else.

In retrospect - I agree with you

I have not watched a debate for years. Debates do not change or help make up voters minds.

But it was almost like watching a plane crash or other disaster you couldn't look away.

After 1/2 hour we turned it off - totally crap and embarrassing for U.S. when the World is watching.

The winners were the liquor stores.

Was that a debate or a couple of old men at a cock fight?

For some, it does help them decide.

I was on the phone with a friend talking boats, cars, and photo gear. His wife wanted to watch, and tried to lure him into watching by turning it into a drinking game. My wife wanted to watch by turning it into a joint activity.

The outcome was as I predicted...a shouting match. His wife quit after a half hour. I watched 3 minutes.

I think the winners were my friend and me, who just avoided a train wreck and had our own little Canon vs Nikon debate.

Congress makes the laws. President signs or vetoes.

News flash. Presidents don't make laws.

Especially when they refuse to watch.

I spent the evening working on some photography issues. I guess I won.

Watching doesn't help. Anyone who hasn't already made up their mind is either incapable of making a decision or is probably not going to vote.
