Check the weight for REAL comparisons.
They may be the same size, they know how to pump in the air.

I make shure the first ingredient is CREAM, then milk not ice milk, eggs, real vanilla, chocolet &c. Real sugar
Tillamook ice cream.

Years ago (decades?), I noticed that when I set a can of tuna on the counter to open it, the handle of my can opener, which used to do the job without hitting the counter surface, suddenly didn't have enough clearance to do that anymore. Same price, less tuna.

I like Ben & Jerry's and Tillamook. But I have an addiction and often avoid the ice cream aisle even though I feel a magnetic attraction to it.

I was surprised that a friend of mine didn't know this. A few years ago, most ice cream makers reduced their package of half gallon ice cream to three pints. Stewart's is one of the few companies that still sells it by the half gallon. They have three flavors on sale every week for $3.39 - less than you would pay for an ice cream cone. The first time I tried to self-checkout a "half gallon" of the smaller Breyer's, the machine said it was the wrong weight for the item. I guess the computer hadn't been updated.

yes they make the containers smaller but keep the price the same as most people don't notice. It can be pretty frustrating.

I thought that the govt weights and measurement standards were fixed. How can then get away with this?-calling 1/2 gallon only 3 prints!

I doesn't say it's a 1/2 gallon. But it's the same size. Just less in it. Ben & Jerry's still has 16oz pints AND it's great ice cream. Not so with a lot of this other garbage. It's 14 oz. screw them. why would I want their crap anyway?

It’s a way to raise prices without you realizing it.

Ever wonder why your pay check doesn't go as far as it use to? This is sneaky inflation!

So many manufacturers do it I wonder if they teach it in marketing class in collage.

It's called cheating!!!

When you reduce the amount of product, you have increased the price. Jerry what is your favorite ice cream? I like Hagen Daz Vanilla Swiss Almond.

I think candy bars pioneered this whole process at least 70 years ago (yes I can remember that). Three Musketeers bars were quite large and cost a dime. They then shrunk slowly in a series of offerings with the price remaining the same. Then the bars got bigger and the prices jumped to a quarter and the process began all over again. Everyone seems to have adopted this practice. It's called marketing.......

Candy bars were only a nickel each.
That's FIVE assorted candy bars for a quarter!

Or 3 candy bars and dip your hands in a variety of penny candy jars for 10 cents worth. My pockets were loaded.

Then candy bars grew bigger(lower packaging costs), yeh right, 25 CENTS!

They want all your money, no competition?

I do not like eating one big ass bar at a time.

And today, they are about $1.25 ea!

Instead of changing the price, many food stuff manufacturers change the weight...although reducing 25% is a bit extreme...in the hopes you don’t notice by looking at the unit price. This is more common than you want to know.

You could always start buying the larger sizes.

Yeah, they use deceptive packaging. My raisin brand box is the same height and width, but it’s so skinny now it won’t stand up on its own.

Because of the "representatives" that keep getting "elected". Anyone with any business acumen doesn't have a chance of getting elected.

Milk=58 oz. OJ=52 oz. ice cream 56-58 oz. Best scam is Bryer's which is not ice cream, but ice milk/cream. It's just not the same old stuff. I've been buying Friendly's which is 64 oz, and it's ice cream. Also Ben & Jerry's is real ice cream. Important facts for ice cream lover's.
