Looks like a good composition, though I think it could use some post processing.

Thank you all, William, nimbushopper, Stash, Phil, Charles and KankRat for your comments, and suggesteions. Working on the PP should keep me out of trouble for a while. I think the problem I had with it was a "flat" look. With the help you have given I think I can take care of that.
Cheers, Neil

I'd put it through Photoshop until I got what I wanted.

I'm afraid that Lightroom 6 and Photograph Elements 2019 will have to do.
Just remembered, I have a HDR program I haven't used in over a year that does a super job. Thanks for the memory nudge, shelty.

Crop it, enhance the shade levels, and turn it to B&W.

Being (over)critical of your own work is obviously too easy.

Because keep is a no brainer.

Someone posted a similar photo it too long ago. They had cranked up the saturation levels and was asking if they had over cooked. Well, yes they had. But it enhanced they photo so well. So, make several copies of the original, then give everyone's suggestions a go and see what you can come up with. I for one would like to see your efforts.

So many ways to go...! Here's what I have come up with to save, so far. One thing bothers me. At what point did the haze turn into white specks? I suspect the "clarity" slider. Or else running out of memory on this ageing machine.

Actually, I'm wondering what the light band is across the photo at the level of the lower mountains. Is this the result of using ND filters with a hard edge?

Looking back over the entire thread, I'm wondering if you applied the HDR. That may have caused the light horizontal band through the middle. If it were me, I'd go back and make another copy of the original and try again without the HDR. Upping the exposure does help. The white specks may be from shooting at a high ISO. Sharpening may have intensified the specks.

Thanks for taking another look, ImTrying. I believe the specks are due to overdoing the "clarity" slider. I did try HDR, briefiy. Anyway, yesterday I started over with a new approach. The result is posted in the PP Section.
