Remember, Trump is a germaphobe like Howie Mandell. For people like that hand shakes are really tough to do. Look at the great lengths that Mandell goes to to prevent being touched while he is a judge on America's Got Talent. Now put that same fear in a politician who is virtually required to shake hands. Should he have said it? No. But it is perfectly understandable why he would feel that way given his well documented phobia.

Jerry, it is of interest. However, it is being badly misconstrued. If you were a germophobe how would you feel about having to shake peoples hands. You would dread it. Would you say something foolish like that about it? Probably not, but Trumps view is neither deliberately mean nor is it newsworthy. It is just a germophobe who no longer has to do something he fears and dreads. That should be totally understandable and should not be something anyone should hold against Trump or take offense at. People don't take offense at other germophobes for the fear, just Trump because they hate who he is. Have some compassion for the phobia, which you mention in your post, so it's not like you didn't know about it.

Being a germophobe hardly justifies Trump's use of the word disgusting to describe supporters who would like to shake his hand. It also doesn't justify the disregard he has for their health when he takes great pains to protect his health by distancing while he packs his supporters like sardines to create the visual effect he desires. One fact is clear, however, and reinforced by the posts in this thread. He is absolutely correct that he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose a single vote.

Olivia Troye went out of her way to heap praise on Pence, yet, as Trump's lapdog, Pence characterized her as a disgruntled former employee.

I wonder what excuses can be constructed to excuse Trump's threats not to accept the result of the upcoming election unless he wins. C'mon, be creative. Of course, the massive fraud is only occurring in 'blue' states.

Of course it was a bad choice of words. Trump unfortunately does that a lot. Not excusing the choice of words only identifying the reason he would feel that way. A reason that people do not take offense at when it is a germophobe that they don't hate. All those of us on the right would like is for you on the left to take ownership of the faults of your candidate instead of being totally onesided in all that you say.

Many of us have pointed out faults with Trump, yet we believe him to be better than the other choice. We do not hear any of you acknowledging Biden's many faults. The left keeps accusing Trump of things that there is video proof that Biden has done and anonymous sources for Trump. We just want equal treatment.

On Friday video was released with Biden calling military members stupid bastards to their faces. Where is the outrage about that? To the left it doesn't exist because Biden was joking. But no matter what Trump says or why he says it, it's an outrage. Well I'm personally good with you being outraged by Trump, just be fair and have the same outrage for Biden and his stupidity.
