CRITIQUE MY PHOTOS PLEASE
THREE PHOTOS, WHAT'S GOOD, WHAT'S BAD, THANKS
I am still new at this stuff but for your first photo which is outstanding, I had the same problem with my backrounds. People told me to avoid distracting backrounds and I can see the white frame in the back. Other than that, great subject, I love Bees, great contrast coloring for the flower! Send more...
Thanks Regina, tried to blur out the background
but not quiet enough. Love macro shots. Bob

Perhaps your aperture wasn't as wide as it could have been? Perhaps around f/5.6 might make it more blurry and give you the results you are looking for.
Thanks arphot, will try that and see how that
comes out,I suppose I could have backed up
and zoomed in and that would made it a little
more out of focus in the back ground but that's
hindsight and hindsite dont get the job done.
Thanks again,Bob
Nobody said anything about the mill. I love it. The vignetting could be a little lighter. Just a bit.
Your photos are well exposed and interesting. The one common problem I see is that the subject matter, in each case, is smack dab in the middle of the frame. Although the rule of thirds is only a guideline, not a mandate, I would have attempted to compose these so that the viewer's eye is led to the subject. That way the entire photo is explored. The vignette is a bit overdone in the mill shot. Less is better with edge treatments otherwise they overpower the photo. Good job.
The bee photo is very good. The Goat and the mill photos need to be leveled. Also use rule of thirds on goat. Other wise its a good photo. Both it and the mill leave me with a kind of so what question I wish I didn't have. Photography is no different than any visual art form, reguiring shooting with your eye, your thinking (technical grasp), and after these two come the one that separates out the good from the great: your heart. I don't experience the last in your photos. Its like your thinking "Oh I jet want to get a good photo" without any real commitment to the subject. Hope this helps.

Vignetting is not my style. So, I think the image subject would be great maybe cropped just a little, but the vignette adds nothing IMO.
Thanks chris:
These were some early photos and I have learned the rule of
thirds now,so much to learn. the mill was color to begin with
turned it to black and white, here is the original. Bob
This is the original, I like this better. Thanks for
your help,Bob
Old mill
Thanks Jake:
take a look at the original, these all were early photos
have learned a little over time
Your original is such a superior photo to the black & white version. IMHO With a slight crop of the original, taking the building and moving it to the left, it would be a wall hanger.
Thanks Bob:
Im with you all the way on your comments, thanks.Bob
