Hardly an analogy. Been wearing masks in surgery for decades. Has nothing to do with people who choose not to wear a mask they don't believe is effective (read warnings on commercially available masks).

I'm continually amazed at how stupid some people can be. People will deny science, but believe in magic. Why wouldn't one believe the epidemiologist who has statistics that shows wearing masks prevent the spread of Covid-19 and even the flu?

I wear my mask religiously but, you also need to keep in mind who is funding these epidemiologist and scientist. Sometimes these professions are influenced by politics.

Reminds me of my years living in Tokyo. It was a rare day when you didn't see anywhere from 10-25% of the people wearing masks. Especially during flu season. It was common practice in their culture to want to protect others from catching whatever they were sick from.

Yes, but here being free is more important than being smart.

Japan with 1/3 of our population has had 1520 COVID deaths. Korea’s rate is similar. I don’t think their hospitals are better, but wearing a mask if you might be unwell is the norm. I don’t see anyone arguing that freedom means DUI should be allowed. My colleagues in Korea and Japan and China are all back at work and business is normal. We are now getting classed with third world countries, people in Asia are asking how could this happen.

FREEDOM!!!

That makes sense, right? Everyone has the right to decide whether to get sick and get others sick.

Are masks effective? We might as well discuss whether or not gravity is a real thing.

For those of you that argue against wearing masks to reduce the spread of coronavirus: Please read this and take me up on my challenge to show me where my thinking is wrong.
