Many years ago, before the "personal computer" became the platform for office usage, the firm my wife worked for had a dedicated word processing system installed. Brand name was NBI and she insisted that the acronym stood for Nothing But Initials :)

NBI actually stood for Nikton Bilineum Inc. I worked for Binx Selby a few decades ago and he let me in on his secret.

How about an acronym for an acronym!

While in the Air Force, I worked 3 years at a Joint Service Navy lead (on a Navy installation) organization that had a long name... with a 15 letter acronym for that name. Then they had a 3 letter acronym, for the long acronym.

Only the Navy :). Any Navy guys care to comment?

I worked for a lady who LOVED acronyms. I got tired of it and sent her a fax. It read, "I'm sorry, I don't understand your ETAs, the ETLA's are even more difficult and the EETLA's are nearly impossible." Not soon, I got a call from her asking what is a "TLA" I told her a Three Letter Acronym. An ETLA is an Extended Tree Letter Acronym and an EETA was an Extended, Expanded Three Letter Acronym. Never got an response.
