Not quite sure why anyone would want to do that, but clearly the adapter would do the necessary reduction.

Worked well for me. It let me use my wide angle lenses without adding the 1.6 crop.

I learn something everyday (thankfully). I suppose that the optical foreshortening of the lens increases the effective diameter, hence the aperture. Kool!
