You are correct! The thing that would distinguish 61 and 62 from this angle is the side insert. In 61 there was 3 horizontal chrome stripes that were not on the 62. Although it was not uncommon for those to be removed by owners back in the 60’s and 70’s I doubt a restoration today would leave those off a 61 as it would affect the value. Beautiful car! However 63 was when GM decided to put even more attention into the design to separate its looks from European sports cars and the Ford T bird which had similar lines. They gave the car a completely new look. Which was radical in those days. So radical that many Vette enthusiasts in that day would say they ruined the design, however today 63 especially the split window coupe is considered one of Corvettes most beautiful designs.

I owned a 62 but my favorite was 63 split window of course. I never cared for convertibles.

The 62 had the horizontal chrome strips below the door running along the rocker panel .., not the 61 ....
