Is there anyway to set up an operating system and browser that has not ONE COnnection to Google.

My daughter has a serious problem with a hacker for several years. Any references or sources of information to combat this would be appreciated. Not only with computer, but also a smart phone.

Thank you.

Probably not if it's an Android phone.
Google created the Android Operating System.

Maybe Firefox and set the default browser to Bing or something else?

You could start with a different e-mail than gmail, which is Google.

Firefox is owned by Google

If I'm not being paranoid, I use Duck Duck Go as my search engine and Opera as my browser.

If I am in full-out conspiracy theory mode, I will use a VPN along with a browser called the Tor Browser. But you give up a lot of usability in trade off for anonymity.

Firefox is owned by Mozilla. They have a contract with Google to use Google as their default search engine. They are not owned by Google. The default search engine can be changed by settings within Firefox.

Actually, Firefox is owned by the Mozilla Foundation. They have a deal with Google to make Google the default search engine.

"Mozilla's original deal with Google to have Google Search as the default web search engine in the browser expired in 2011, but a new deal was struck, where Google agreed to pay Mozilla just under a billion dollars over three years in exchange for keeping Google as its default search engine."

In windows 10 you can go into the privacy and tracking settings of the browser Edge and set it to stop trackers from tracking you. I checked mine the other day and 90% of what it stopped was google related and I do not use any google products

Mozilla owns Firefox last I knew.
BUT they have a deal with Google.
and it can be circumvented.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Corporation

From the article: "Mozilla's original deal with Google to have Google Search as the default web search engine in the browser expired in 2011, but a new deal was struck, where Google agreed to pay Mozilla just under a billion dollars over three years in exchange for keeping Google as its default search engine."

It's impossible with Android. Android IS built and operated by Google. The integration is everywhere.

With Windows it's easily avoided, just choose your search engine and set that default properly, but if you do have a gmail account (don't), it will leave breadcrumbs all over the place.

If you've had serious problems with hackers ditching Google probably won't be enough. There's a very good chance the hackers left backdoors into your hardware...
